Komen Tissue Bank event at Karmanos Cancer Institute

Thanks to my  colleagues  Katrina Studvent, Caair of Komen Detroit Race for the Cure and Dr. Michelle Cote, an Associate Professor in my program.  Under their leadership, Karmanos Cancer Institute successfully hosted the Komen Tissue Bank event. Around 200 women donated healthy breast tissue in order to advance research that can reduce the burden of breast cancer.  I donated tissue, too.  Thanks to the the Karmanos radiologist and surgical assistant who performed my procedure, it was easy and pretty painless.
